Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using MIDIFLOW, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally able to accept these terms in your location. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.

What the service provides

MIDIFLOW is a free tool that analyses supported audio in your browser and creates an editable MIDI file. It does not provide cloud storage, an account, professional transcription, music licensing or a guarantee of a particular result.

The service may change, be interrupted or be discontinued. We may limit access when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or prevention of abuse.

Your files and rights

You retain whatever rights you already hold in audio you choose and MIDI output created from it. Using MIDIFLOW does not transfer those rights to us.

You are responsible for having permission to use, copy, transcribe and transform the source material. Converting a recording does not create a licence to a composition, performance, recording or generated track owned by someone else.

Acceptable use

Do not use MIDIFLOW to break the law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, distribute malware, interfere with the service, bypass security controls, scrape it abusively or misrepresent the origin or ownership of content.

You may use lawful MIDI output for personal or commercial work only to the extent that you have the necessary rights to the source and output.

Accuracy and musical decisions

Audio-to-MIDI transcription is an estimate. Notes, timing, velocity, polyphony and pitch bends can be missing, added or inaccurate, especially in dense mixes, noisy recordings or sustained effects.

Review the MIDI before relying on it. MIDIFLOW is not a substitute for a score, rights clearance, professional transcription or a backup of your original recording.

Software and third-party services

MIDIFLOW includes or depends on open-source components, including Basic Pitch, TensorFlow.js and Tone.js, which remain subject to their respective licences. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not make us responsible for their services or terms.

The MIDIFLOW name, site design and original site content may not be copied or presented as another service except as permitted by law or written permission.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted availability, compatibility, accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost files, lost profits or decisions made from the output. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means the new terms apply from that date. Questions can be sent to contact@audiomidi.org.
